Ways to Dry Your Clothes Better with a Dryer

9/21/2021

Doing laundry is considered a mundane and boring chore, especially when drying clothes since it becomes a time-consuming activity. Also, when you are drying your clothes traditionally like hanging them on the clothesline for days, then it becomes to a tedious and less spotless process due to weather conditions, insects, and microorganisms.

That is why drying clothes in an electric dryer is more convenient since you can enjoy 100% germ-free and dry garments in all kinds of weather. Here are tips that can help you dry your clothes better while saving money, time and effort.

  • Run an extra spin if there are extra drippy clothes in your load
Always run an extra spin cycle on maximum spin speed in your washer if there are drippy wet clothes in your load. Keep in mind that dryers are designed to remove moisture more efficiently, but it will take longer when your clothes are still dripping. The added cycle will ensure that the moisture is removed thoroughly – making your clothes ready for drying.

  • Always clean fibres from your fluff filter
Clean the fluff filter after every cycle since this will ensure that it is not blocked by any dirt or foreign object since this can lead to issues. There are two ways to clean filters; for easy to reach areas, you can clean them by hand but for hard-to-reach places, using a vacuum is a must. Also, some dryers have washable fluff filters, which can be opened and cleaned under running water. It is also important to regularly clean your washing machine.

  • Load each piece of laundry separately
It may be easier to put a whole load of laundry in your dryer, but this will entangle your clothes. In fact, detangling your clothes can be cumbersome, and there is a chance that some may get damaged in the process. So, it is necessary to separate them before loading them in the dryer since this will minimise entanglement and provide the best drying results.

  • Washing machine and dryer should have the same capacity
If you’re going to dry your clothes from the washing machine to your dryer, make sure they have the same capacity. This is because washing and drying is a seamless process rather than washing more than one batch because your dryer has a bigger capacity than your washer.

  • Choose the right program for your fabric
It is essential to set the right program based on the types of fabrics you are drying. So, if you are drying cotton clothes, you must set your dryer to cotton and easy care. Set the program to mixed load if you are drying natural and synthetic clothes.
