Is your dryer not drying clothes? Try this?

Clothes dryers are useful appliances in any home especially if you’re living in condos and small apartments where space is limited, and you can’t set up a clothesline. A dryer’s primary purpose is to assimilate moisture from washed clothing in the least time possible, which means it is more convenient to use it than conventional means of drying clothes outside.

You can also dry your garments during the evening or while it’s vigorously raining. Clothes dryers are commonly durable and tough, so you can expect to use it for several years if you maintain it properly.

Reasons why your dryer may not be drying clothes satisfactorily
There are several reasons why a dryer may stop working, or the results are not what you’ve expected. Here are some common causes why it’s not drying your clothes satisfactorily and what you can try to rectify the problem:

  • Filter is full of lint
You should first check your dryer lint filter trap and determine if it’s already full. Sometimes cleaning the lint filter will do the trick and your dryer will be back to its full working condition once you’ve cleared the lint inside it.

  • Clogged vent hose
Another thing to inspect is the vent hose on the back of your dryer and see if it’s clogged, caked or full of lint since that is usually the cause of this issue. When this happens, you can expect that your dryer won’t be able to expel hot air from within, which means it can’t dry your clothing in a timely manner. You can solve this issue by using a long dryer vent brush or similar item. You should clean the inside of the vent hose by clearing any build-up of lint and dust.
  • Dryer motor has overheated
There are times your dryer will overheat, and this will affect the motor causing it to stop working temporarily. In fact, every dryer has a safety mechanism built into its motor, and it will kick in once it detects an overheat. If you suspect that this might be the issue, then you should give your dryer at least an hour to cool down before using it again. You can also prevent the motor from overheating by not overloading your dryer with too many clothes.

After doing the steps we have suggested above, if your dryer is still having some issues, then it is time to seek the help of a professional dryer repair specialist who can correctly pinpoint the problem and effectively fix it so you can use it to its full working condition.

That is why it is essential to find a dryer repair service provider like QLD Washers who has years of experience in the industry. We can have your dryer back in working order in no time. Find out about other appliance issues here.
