Tips for drying clothes

12/27/2021

Drying clothes in a dryer is more efficient than drying them on a line, but it is not as simple as you think because if you are not implementing the right method, it may cost more than you expect. That is why you need to be very careful when drying clothes inside a dryer.

Save time and money on your next trip to the laundromat with these tips:

  • Shake clothes before you remove them from the washer
It is essential to shake your clothes as you pull them from the washer before this can help prevent wrinkles, and it is a hassle-free way of cutting down on drying time.

  • Dry full loads of laundry
If possible, you should dry full loads of laundry instead of small batches at a time. In fact, it is a more efficient way of saving energy.

  • Don’t overload the dryer
You should dry at full load whenever possible, but don’t overdo it since the overloading dryer affects its performance. You should understand that clothes need room to tumble for faster drying and reduced wrinkles.

  • Always use a dryer sheet
One of the main benefits of using dryer sheets is that it can help soften clothes and reduce static cling. It can also make clothes smell great, and it can even make folding less of a chore. So, if you want to make folding a breeze, we recommend that you use dryer sheets.

  • Choose the right setting for your clothes
Our clothes have different materials, and each of them requires different dryer settings. Basically, you should use heat for towels, jeans, and other heavy fabrics. Medium heat is good for polyester, and low heat is for more delicate items.

  • Don’t add wet clothes to a partially dry load
Another thing to remember when drying clothes in a dryer is not to add wet clothes to a partially dry load because this can throw off the moisture detector. This will eventually result in over and under dried clothes.

  • Always keep the dryer door closed
When drying clothes, you should avoid opening the dryer door since that could release hot air and that will add time to the drying cycle.

  • Remove dry clothes from the dryer as soon as you can
When your clothes are dry, you need to get them out of the dryer, and fold or hang them to avoid any wrinkles. Don’t let them sit inside the dryer because that could affect the quality of your clothes.
